CONCEPT | PAINTER'S FATE
Every artist knows failure and time and again a work does not succeed as desired.
It is the fate of the painter who strives for the best results that he must always somehow fail.
The Painter's Fate series takes the gravity out of this failure and transforms it into delicate objects reminiscent of discarded paintings on paper, crumpled iand then thrown on the wall.
When working on this series, I actually paint on flat mirrored aluminum first and only then deform it. So the process of making is not as far removed from the ironically cited act of frustration as one might think.
The works can be turned into any position on the wall. The viewer can decide.
